Craig McCollum's Bio
Craig McCollum grew up skating in the 70's and put it away for thirty years. At least until a few years ago when his son Hunter persisted that he go longboarding with him. Instead of going out the easy way and buying one, Craig ended up making his own. His first board turned out better than expected. Veneered with Ribboned African Mahogany, the compliments started rolling in from everyone who laid eyes on it. The addiction for riding and making boards quickly grew to an obsessive passion. Now three years later Craig and Hunter keep themselves plenty busy making one-of-a-kind custom longboards right here in Missoula, Montana.
Craig grew up in Illinois and has a BFA in Photography and Product Design from Southern Illinois University. He ventured to Missoula after college to pursue his childhood niche in photographing the Western Landscape. A carpenter and furniture maker for 20 years Craig has been more than content being a single parent, photographer, carpenter, and not to forget, making longboards and playing in this great city...
